In a recent report from Swindon Insurance it was revealed that 44 percent of holidaymakers who travel abroad without Travel Insurance believe it's not necessary. 33% of travellers who go abroad without cover admit to leaving it too late..while a further 16 percent forget about it altogether.
In spite of this, travellers who holiday abroad without cover and who incur out of pocket expenses can expect to pay an average of £257.86 that would normally have been covered by an insurance policy.
Stolen valuables and damaged luggage were the most common problems experienced by uninsured Brits while delayed flights and accommodation problems followed close behind.
When Travel Insurance can cost so little - less than a McDonald's meal for four, for a family cover for two weeks, it seems insane that people would travel abroad without some sort of insurance.
